Visitor & Working Holiday Visas

Subclass 600 Visitor visas: separated into streams according to the travel intention of the applicant. No work allowed.

  • Tourist stream - generally allows for a 3 month stay. If a ‘no further stay’ condition is applied then cannot apply for another visa in Australia unless a waiver is approved.

  • Business Visitor stream - for applicants who want to come to Australia for business visitor purposes. Visa holders are not allowed to work or sell products or services. Must be outside Australia to apply. Possible to gain multiple entry visa but limited to a 3 month stay per entry.

  • ‍Frequent Traveller stream - limited to applicants from certain regional countries who travel to Australia frequently for business or tourism purposes. Applicants must be outside Australia.

  • Sponsored Family stream - requires applicant to be sponsored by an eligible family member who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Generally allows a stay of 3 months. Must be outside Australia to apply.

Subclass 462 Work and Holiday & Subclass 417 Working Holiday visas: allow young adults to visit Australia for 12 months to travel and work, with the option to apply for a second and third visa (conditional upon meeting the work requirement).

  • Subclass 462 Work and Holiday visa - available only to passport holders of eligible countries (see here). Applicants must be outside Australia to apply for the first visa and must be 18 - 30 years old. Other requirements may include:

    • Education level.

    • Functional English.

    • Government letter of support.

    • Financial capacity.

    • Health and Character.

  • Subclass 417 Working Holiday visa - available only to passport holders of eligible countries (see here). Applicants must be outside Australia to apply for the first visa and must be 18 - 30 or 18 - 35 years old (depending on passport country). Other requirements may include:

    • Financial capacity.
